Dr. Niraj Kumar received M. Sc. (Tech.) degrees from the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and Ph. D. from the Osmania University, Hyderabad. Dr. Kumar started his career as a Research Scholar and is currently a Scientist in Gravity-Magnetic Group at the National Geophysical Research Institute, Hyderabad. Dr. Kumar’s areas of interest include Gravity- Magnetic data collection, processing, modeling and interpretation for hydrocarbon exploration and tectonic studies. Presently, Dr. Kumar is working on the integrated lithospheric modeling of Indian shield using gravity, geoid, topography and heat flow data. He has contributed extensively in severa industry sponsored projects to delineate the hydrocarbon potential zones in trap covered areas of west-central India and frontal basins in north-east India.
