The Western Dharwar Craton (WDC) is one of the oldest and most stable Archean cratons, was imaged using three-dimensional (3-D) inversion magnetotelluric (MT) data. The resulting resistivity model shows a highly resistive upper crust (>10,000 ohm-m) underlain by prominent mid-crustal conductive anomalies (10-50 ohm-m) at 10-25 km depth (Fig). These conductors delineate the structural boundary between the Deccan Volcanic Province and the WDC and likely represent fluid-rich pathways and zones of mineralization. The results highlight a complex lithospheric architecture, reflecting long-term cratonic stability alongside localized crustal reworking processes.
