Dr. A. VASANTHI obtained her M.Sc (Tech) Geophysics degree in 1999 from Osmania University, Hyderabad. She won “SRI VARAPRASAD RAO MEMORIAL BOOK PRIZE” for securing highest marks in Gravity and Magnetic methods during M. Sc (Tech) Geophysics, 1997. She joined in National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad as a Junior Research Fellow in 1999 and completed her Ph.D (Geophysics) in the year 2006 where she is now a Junior Scientist. During this period she has gained expertise in processing the potential field (Gravity and Magnetics) data by an improved finite element approach and by image processing techniques such as edge enhancement (known as analytical signal in geophysical literature) and modeling of the gravity field to obtain geological structures. She has published a number of research papers in national and international journals. She won the JGSIRADHAKRISHNA AWARD in 2006 for the Best Paper published in Journal Geological Society of India, Bangalore. She is an Associate member of SEG and Life Member of JGSI and AEG.
