Research Area

Dr. Imlirenla Jamir completed her B.Sc. (Hons.) Geology in the year 2010 from Nagaland University (India) and M.Sc. (Geology) from University of Mysore, Karnataka (India) in the year 2012. During the years 2013-2018, she completed her Ph.D. on the problem of hillslope instability using GIS and numerical simulations in the NW Himalaya from Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology / Nagaland University.

Dr. Jamir worked as a research scientist in Northeast Space Application Centre (Dept. of Space, Govt. of India) during the year 2019 and was involved in outreach training development programmes and susceptibility/vulnerability mapping of the Northeast India. During the year 2020, she worked as a GIS consultant in the Public Works Department, Nagaland (India) on the issues of road network planning for rural development (funded by the World Bank).

She joined the CSIR-NGRI, Hyderabad (India) in the year 2021 as a Scientist in the Hydrogeochemistry Group and worked on the hydrogeochemical aspects of groundwater in the Northeast India. She is presently working in the Rock Mechanics Division, involved in research related to geotechnical aspects of rocks on hillslopes.
