Research Area
Dr. A. Akilan is currently working as a Principal Scientist in NGRI. He obtained his B.E degree from Madurai Kamaraj University, M.Tech from Punjabi university, M.S from JNTU Hyderabad and PhD from Pondicherry Central University. He has received HDCM from ICM Madurai passed out with first rank and few postgraduate diplomas (PGDPM, PGDPR and DLL) from Annamali University. He got his professional training from IIT, Bombay in GPS Technology and its applications. He has presented several papers in national & international conferences and published several SCI papers in the field of GPS-Geodesy, GPS-Meteorology and VLBI. He has participated in XXII, XXIII and XXVIII Indian Antarctic Scientific expeditions and wintered during 2004 at Antarctica. He is a life member of IETE and IGU.
