The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) celebrated its 83rd Foundation Day with a grand ceremony held at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The event was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, and highlighted CSIR's cutting-edge advancements across a range of scientific fields, reinforcing its vital role in driving innovation and technology in India.
The celebration was graced by the presence of Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General of CSIR, and Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, former Chairman of ISRO. A special message from Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of Science and Technology and Vice President of CSIR, underscored the importance of CSIR’s contributions to national progress.
Among the many exhibits, CSIR-National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) stood out with its pioneering work in geothermal energy and groundwater exploration, showcasing its commitment to sustainable development.
In continuation of the Foundation Day festivities, CSIR is organizing a "One Week, One Theme" exhibition at the National Science Centre, New Delhi, from September 27th to 29th, 2024. The exhibition, open to the public and school children, will feature innovative breakthroughs from all 37 CSIR laboratories, including CSIR-NGRI, aimed at addressing key societal and industrial challenges. The showcase underscores India’s journey toward becoming a "Vikhsit Bharat".
